CONNECTED Lives CREATE LASTING CHANGE.

As a community leader, you can be a part of restoring the way we help people heal.

Use your story To Help Others

Community adds real value to our lives.  It not only helps us feel connected to the world around us, it also makes a measurable difference in our happiness-and our mental health. Social isolation takes a heavy toll on our well-being and our ability to heal but you can be a part of restoring the way we help people heal.

CALLING ALL HENS

Project Connection works with a handful of Community Hens.  Yes, Hens.  You know the ones: Those nurturing humans who have a knack for taking people under their wing and making anyone feel welcome.  We help our clients heal inside the office, and Hens make them feel welcome in the world around them.  Our Hens are volunteers who are already running community groups and organizations.  They are skilled at holding the hand of a new member and helping them find a place of belonging in the Salt Lake City community.  Hens can be one-on-one mentors or experts at bringing different people together to form support.

Sound like you? We would love to talk to you!

Why Partner with US?

In a time where we are disconnected now more than ever.  Utah ranks last in the nation for access to mental health services, and depression and anxiety have gone up 27% because of the pandemic.  Giving the gift of mental health and community is a gift that is sure to make lasting change in the life of an individual and improve the wellness of our community for generations to come.

your story

Your passions and interests are worth sharing! We’re building a network of organizations and individuals who can stand with open arms to embrace our clients as they work to create connected lives.

Programs can take a formal approach like offering an organized class, but can also include one-on-one mentoring or social volunteering. It’s amazing how much good a coffee and a walk does for someone practicing social integration.  We are open to all kinds of amazing and crazy ideas for building connection within our community.

Looking to Volunteer?

Whether you’re looking to volunteer as an individual or with a group, we’d love to connect with you to explore opportunities for you to use your story to help others.

Itineris Early
College High School

Itineris supports the whole student, and mental health is no exception. The administrators, office staff, counseling center, and teachers are all partners in providing school-based mental health. These resources range from one on one therapy to ACT training for students who support their peers. Itineris makes space for helping students who experience clinical depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, and suicidal ideation, while also giving students support for all the things that teenage life throws at them. The leadership at Itineris has built one of the top academic high schools in Utah, and Project Connection aims to give their students access to the mental health support they need to thrive.

Clinical Yoga Institute

Clinical Yoga Institute offers therapists graduate-level yoga teacher training and trauma sensitive movement and mindfulness for clinicians. Based on a substantial amount of evidence, we now know that 80% of the emotions we experience come from the body to the brain and that is why yoga is a key factor in healing trauma. We teach clinicians to identify hyperarousal and hypoarousal in clients, and which clients will struggle with these states based on their yogic body type. We train clinicians in pre-regulation techniques to help clients stay in the window of tolerance before applying CBT, and yoga as the ongoing medicine for trauma.

Clinical Yoga Institute is proud to be Project Connection’s clinical yoga educator of choice. We've found their team to be highly engaged, educated and committed to their profession.
